What Is Your Role at FCWS?
Since 2009, I’ve developed and facilitated innovative, evidence-based workforce solutions that connect Frederick County’s unemployed and underemployed residents—including those with barriers to employment—with local businesses, training providers, and community partners. I leverage labor market data, cross-agency collaboration, and wrap-around services to support successful employment outcomes.
What Do You Enjoy Most About Your Work?
What I enjoy most about my work is connecting with people. Each person brings a unique story. I consider it a privilege to hear those stories and help individuals use their experiences as stepping stones on their career paths—whether they are job seekers, colleagues, community partners, or business owners.
What Does “Workforce Development” Mean to You Personally?
To me, workforce development is about people. It’s not just about helping someone find a job—it’s about walking alongside them as they figure out what’s next, what’s possible, and what they’re capable of. It’s a chance to support someone during a key moment in their life—whether they’re starting fresh, changing direction, or just trying to find the next step. Being even a small part of that journey is something I truly value.
Share One Accomplishment, Project, or Moment That Makes You Proud of the Work You Do.
One project I’m especially proud of is creating, implementing, and facilitating the Elevate Conversation Circuit Networking Meet-Up—an interactive, networking, conversation-based series designed for individuals navigating their careers. Each session offers real talk, peer support, and actionable takeaways on job searching, retention, and workplace success in a relaxed, supportive environment.
What Is One Thing People Might Be Surprised to Learn About Your Role?
I represent Frederick County Workforce Services on the Maryland Skilled Immigrant Task Force (SITF), a statewide consortium dedicated to leveraging the talents of foreign-trained professionals to meet Maryland’s high-growth, high-demand industry needs. I support both businesses and job seekers, while equipping colleagues with resources to better serve their constituents.
