Recovery Programs

Frederick County Workforce Services offers specialized programs for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder who are ready to take steps toward employment. These programs focus on building workplace skills, confidence, and support systems to help participants prepare for and succeed in the workforce.

We also provide resources for employers who want to create recovery-friendly workplaces, reduce stigma, and strengthen their hiring and retention practices.

Recovery to Work Academy

Empower Your Recovery Journey

Recovery to Work Academy is a 6-week work readiness program, designed for individuals with at least three months of recovery. We help you build skills, confidence, and strategies to navigate the challenges of maintaining recovery while finding and keeping a job.

Through group sessions, you’ll learn practical tools for career success and personal growth.

Important Note: Seating for the Recovery to Work Academy is limited, and there is a selection process to ensure that participants are best positioned to benefit from the program.

Fridays, 1:00 – 4:00 pm

  • Summer Session: July 25 – August 29, 2025 (in progress – registration closed)

  • Fall Session: October 17 – November 21, 2025

  • Winter Session: January 9 – February 13, 2026
