Investing in Frederick County’s Future: Childcare Initiative Participants Reach Halfway Milestone

Participants in the Frederick County Childcare Initiative — a collaboration between Frederick County Workforce Services and the Division of Family Services — are halfway through their 90-hour Preschool Childcare Certification course! This Frederick County Workforce Services-sponsored training is helping prepare a new wave of childcare providers, addressing a critical need in our community.

Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater recently met with Micha Hagans, Employment and Training Manager of FCWS, to discuss Frederick County’s childcare needs and the positive impact of the initiative. CE Fitzwater also visited with the participants and their Frederick Community College instructor, thanking them for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to building a stronger future for families across the county.

These participants are not only advancing their careers—they are helping ensure Frederick County families have greater access to high-quality childcare.
