Frederick County Youth Council

About the Youth Council

The Frederick County Youth Council, a mandated subset of the Frederick County Workforce Development Board, is a membership of professionals representing both public and private sector industries whose focus is to develop programs, oversee services, and guide policies regarding workforce development for youth being served through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) grant as well as other youth in the community.

The Youth Council members are actively engaged to ensure that the WIA youth and other youth in the community are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in the workplace. Programs, workshops, and internship opportunities are developed and facilitated in order for these youth to gain knowledge and education in the field of workforce development.

Members of the Youth Council include those with a special interest or expertise in youth policy. For more information, please contact Brooke Sims: bsims@frederickcountymd.gov or 301.600.2760.
