During a period of unemployment and/or change in your life, you may want to consider using your experience and talents to start your own business.

A great resource is the Frederick County Office of Economic Development's Small Business Development Center, which is also located at the Business and Employment Center.

Additionally, Frederick County Workforce Services offers a seminar called SmartStart: Introduction to Starting Your Own Business, which explains the basics of going into business for yourself.
