Team Caveo Partners with FCWS to Launch New IT Training Program
April 14, 2015
Team Caveo of Frederick, MD recently launched a 16-week Computer Technician course for unemployed or underemployed Frederick County citizens who have an interest in the field, combined with an aptitude for technical work. Upon successful completion of the course, attendees will be eligible to take the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) exam and participate in a paid internship with one of several local employers.
Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS) collaborated with Team Caveo to bring this program to fruition by recruiting participants for the course and covering the cost of course materials with available grant funding. FCWS also provided outreach to local employers that agreed to serve as internship sites for program graduates.
Team Caveo Executive Director Jeff Colburn, who is also the course instructor, does not charge a fee for his instructional time, in accordance with Team Caveo’s organizational mission purpose: Transitioning those in need to a career in Information Technology. Team Caveo strives to provide trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skill sets required for entry into this high-demand field. In order to make this opportunity available to as many individuals as possible, Team Caveo does not charge participants to attend any of its computer training classes.
