Frederick WORKS! Green Training

Thanks for your interest in the Maryland Energy Sector Partnership (MESP) Grant. Frederick WORKS! Green Training funding is available through this grant for a limited time only, so please act soon!

What is the purpose of this grant? The purpose of this grant is to teach workers the skills required in the emerging energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.

Who can be trained with this grant funding? This grant is intended for businesses that want to provide training for new workers they plan to hire OR for individuals (over the age of 18) seeking training that will lead to job placement. Eligible employers can receive 50-100% reimbursement of training costs. Eligible individuals may also receive scholarships to cover a portion of approved training.

Who can apply for this funding? Green sector businesses and any other businesses that are taking steps to implement environmentally friendly processes and/or increased efficiencies. Individuals may also apply for this grant funding, provided that the training will lead to job placement.

What types of training will be considered for approval? In-house, online and/or third party vendor training (including community college courses) in industries such as (but not limited to) Manufacturing, Construction, Environment Technology, and Solar Energy.
