The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides patient care and federal benefits to veterans and their dependents.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is planning to open a community-based outpatient clinic at Fort Detrick. Services will include primary care, health maintenance, routine and urgent care procedures and education.This clinic is among the 38 new clinics approved in 22 states, including one at Andrews Air Force Base.

The new Center for Acquisition Innovation, a subsidiary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, recently opened in Frederick. The Center includes the Acquisition Leadership Academy, with an intern program and schools for contracting and program management with federal acquisitions.
