The National Cancer Institute at Frederick (NCI-Frederick) is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and its campus is located within Fort Detrick.
Four on-site NCI-Frederick contractors provide scientific, technical, and operations management support:
SAIC-Frederick, Inc. provides Operations and Technical Support.
Data Management Services, Inc. provides Computer & Statistical Services support.
Wilson Information Services Corporation (WISCO) currently holds the Scientific Library contract.
Charles River Laboratories currently holds the Animal Production Area (APA) contract.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is the second largest Institute of the world-renowned National Institutes of Health (NIH). It supports and conducts basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.
Additionally, NIAID oversees the new Integrated Research Facility, which is a bio-defense program located at Fort Detrick.
