NEW! The Maryland Department of Human Services recently launched a website with additional information about benefits to assist citizens. A list of community food resources by county, frequently asked questions, and phone numbers for each of the local departments of social services are just some of the helpful information DHS provided on its website.

NEW! A new webpage launched on the Frederick County Government website – www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/FederalFurlough – provides information and links to resources available for federal employees affected by the current government shutdown.

Filing Unemployment Claims

If you are a federal employee and have been furloughed as a result of the federal shutdown, you may file your claim online using the Federal Civilian Employee Application for Benefits or you may file a claim by calling 410-853-1700 or an unemployment insurance claim center
