Career Exploration The Hiring Process The Local Job Market Job Training Success on the Job
I want to start searching for a new job and a friend told me about Frederick County Workforce Services. I’m feeling very overwhelmed and I’m not sure how to get started…Can you help?
Of course, that’s what we’re here for.Â
Located at the Business and Employment Center, Frederick County Workforce Services offers person-to-person help with job searching, resume writing, interviewing skills, changing career fields and tuition assistance; and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!Â
It’s also worth mentioning that the depth of our services includes so much more. For example, we have an internal team that is dedicated to surveying local business needs. This in turn promises that we are matching up the right candidates with the right jobs. Our team is dedicated to finding situations where we can provide streamlined employee recruitment, paid on-the-job-training, job fairs and other business support measures.
Frederick County Workforce Services also serves youth, individuals with language barriers and those with disabilities.Â
Another great factor is that, for the most part, our services are free!! This is because we are a not-for-profit agency funded by tax dollars and other government grants.
In order to get started, just Call 301-600-2255 and ask to sign up for an Orientation.Â
Orientations are held on Tuesdays from 1 pm to 3 pm and on Thursdays from 10 am to 12 pm. Although you can use the center anytime (because we operate similarly to the public library), attending the orientation is a gateway opportunity to learn about our vast resources, free seminars and meet one-on-one with a Career Specialist. We can evaluate your precise needs and tailor a plan to streamline the process of meeting your career goals. Beyond that, we can help see you through the long-term process of searching for a new and better career.Â
