NEW! Frederick County Workforce Services now provides customers with access to the world-renowned Prove It! assessment tool.
In addition, Frederick County Workforce Services offers several career assessment tools in our center. They include the following:
CAPS, COPS and COPES (Career Exploration Assessment)
An assessment system that identifies your aptitudes, interests and values and generates possible career choices that you can research. The Seminar and Events Calendar lists the dates and times of each Career Exploration Assessment. Please plan to register in the Maryland Workforce Exchange before attending this class. Due to high demand for this class, tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis one hour before the class begins.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
This personality indicator helps you to better understand yourself and others, and to learn what job settings suit you best. The Seminar and Events Calendar lists the dates and times of each MBTI session. You must pre-register for this class by signing up in our Career Resource Lab or by calling 301-600-2255. A Career Specialist will be assigned to you after you attend FCWS Orientation, which is the first step to accessing our services.
Self Directed Search (SDS):
This career interest inventory developed by John L. Holland links your results to jobs categorized into to six occupational types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. This assessment is available through your Career Specialist.
O*NET:
These instruments, including O*NET Ability Profiler, O*NET Interest Profiler, O*NET Computerized Interest Profiler, O*NET Work Importance Locator, and O*NET Work Importance Profiler, will help you identify your work-related interests, what you consider important on the job, and your abilities in order to explore those occupations that relate most closely to those attributes.
