On-the-Job Training
 /

Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS) receives funding from the Department of Labor to provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities for qualified job seekers. OJT is defined as employee training at the job location while the employee is actually working.

If an employer is willing to hire a job seeker and train him or her to do all or part of the job, FCWS may be able to reimburse the employer for the new employee's salary during the training period.  Qualified job seekers can use this program as a hiring incentive to employers.  Businesses can use the program to offset new employee training expenses.

To be considered for an OJT, job seekers should enroll in the Maryland Workforce Exchange and plan to attend an upcoming Orientation session, where you will be assigned to a Career Specialist.  Your Career Specialist will assess your eligibility for this opportunity.

Employers may contact a member of the FCWS business team at (301) 600.1867 to learn more about the OJT program and the benefits to participating employers.
